Stone-crushed agave and American oak aging give this traditional reposado remarkable depth.
Traditional tequila-making methods give Fortaleza Reposado its distinctive character, beginning with agave from Mexico's Tequila Valley. Cooked in stone ovens and crushed entirely by stone, the agave ferments in open-air wooden tanks before being double-distilled in copper pots. Aging in American oak brings notes of caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon to the spirit's natural citrus, cooked agave, and earthy character. The palate is rich and slightly oily, with hints of apple and a long, gently spiced finish. Bottled at 80 proof in hand-blown Mexican glass, it's a compelling example of traditional tequila craftsmanship.
